A Chattooga County jury has convicted Timmy Glenn on multiple charges, including rape, aggravated sexual battery, child molestation, cruelty to children and simple battery, according to the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office.
Prosecutors said evidence presented at trial showed Glenn repeatedly physically and sexually abused three children in his care, including one of his biological children, while they lived in the same home.
Authorities said the abuse came to light after two of the children escaped the home and sought help from family members following a beating with a large wooden paddle.
Investigators with the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services conducted a welfare check at the residence and removed two children from the home for their safety.
During forensic interviews conducted at the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Children’s Advocacy Center, the children told investigators Glenn frequently struck them with a wooden paddle, sometimes multiple times a day, leaving bruises. Investigators said the children later disclosed additional abuse, including the use of a taser and several acts of sexual abuse involving three children.
Authorities also interviewed two other children who had lived in the home. One reported sexual abuse, while another provided testimony confirming what investigators described as an ongoing pattern of physical and sexual abuse.
On March 9, Glenn was sentenced to life in prison, with the first 30 years to be served without the possibility of parole.
The case was prosecuted by Chief Assistant District Attorney Lynsay Chapman of the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office. Acting District Attorney Deanna Reisman praised the victims for their bravery and credited investigators and prosecutors for their work in securing the conviction.
