The City of LaFayette is recognizing its Police Department on National Law Enforcement Day, expressing gratitude for the dedication and service officers provide to the community each day.
City officials praised the department for the countless hours spent keeping streets safe, securing public events, and protecting residents. Beyond traditional law enforcement duties, officers are often called upon to assist motorists with broken-down vehicles, offer guidance and discretion when a warning is more appropriate than a citation, and build meaningful relationships with the people they serve.
The LaFayette Police Department is also deeply involved in community outreach, donating time to programs such as Shop with a Cop, investing in local youth, and maintaining a visible presence at community events to ensure families can gather safely.
City leaders say the commitment of LaFayette’s officers helps make the community safer and stronger.
“Today and every day, we thank our officers for their service, professionalism, and dedication to the City of LaFayette,” the statement read.
