ROME, Ga. — Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) is now accepting applications for the summer term of a new state-funded scholarship designed to support disabled veterans pursuing technical education.

The Disabled Veterans Support Scholarship (DVSS) is funded through voluntary donations made on Georgia state income tax returns and is administered by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) Foundation. The program aims to help veterans with service-connected disabilities complete their education and transition into high-demand careers.

The scholarship covers the full cost of attendance, including tuition, required supplies, and other associated expenses, allowing veterans to focus on their training without financial barriers.

GNTC officials say the program is intended to support veterans as they gain valuable skills and prepare for in-demand jobs across Georgia.

Eligible veterans enrolled in degree, diploma, or technical certificate programs are encouraged to apply before the April 30 deadline.

To qualify, applicants must be U.S. military veterans (not dependents), enrolled in a credit-bearing program either full-time or part-time, and provide documentation from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs showing a service-connected disability rating.
