The LaFayette High School girls soccer team delivered a commanding performance Tuesday night, defeating Dade County 9-0.
Cora Lanier led the offensive surge with four goals and one assist, helping power the Lady Ramblers to the shutout victory. Emma Brown also had a strong night, scoring two goals and adding one assist.
Lexi Underwood, Maggie Thompson, and Della Harris each contributed one goal in the win, showcasing LaFayette’s balanced scoring attack.
Hailey Hickman, Naomi Thompson, and Alexa Cannon each recorded one assist, as the Lady Ramblers controlled the match from start to finish.
The LaFayette High School varsity baseball team continued its strong start to the season Tuesday, defeating Dade County High School by a score of 18-3.
Luke Hopkins led the Ramblers at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and scoring three runs. Brady Wilson added a 2-for-3 performance with two RBI and two runs, while Caden Pyper finished 2-for-4 with two RBI and crossed the plate three times.
On the mound, Brodie Underdown provided solid relief, pitching two scoreless innings and recording three strikeouts to help secure the victory.
The Ramblers and Wolverines squared off again on Wednesday. LaFayette picked up the win again. 13-3,
The LaFayette High School boys soccer team staged a late comeback Tuesday night to earn a dramatic victory over Dade County High School on the road.
The Ramblers trailed 1-0 with less than 10 minutes remaining in regulation when senior Jordan Ridley scored the equalizer to tie the match at 1-1 and force overtime.
After neither team scored in the extra period, the match moved to penalty kicks, where LaFayette dominated. Vlad Plott, Elijah Decker, and Harrison Gilstrap each converted their penalty attempts to give the Ramblers the advantage.
Goalkeeper Isaac Hamilton played a key role in the shootout, blocking one penalty kick while the Wolverines missed their other two attempts, securing the win for LaFayette.
The Ramblers will return to the field Friday when they travel to face North Murray High School. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
