The LaFayette High School boys and girls basketball teams are set to begin postseason play this week, with both squads traveling for opening-round games in the state tournament.
The Lady Ramblers will take the court first, facing Cherokee Bluff High School on Tuesday. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
The Rambler boys team will follow on Wednesday, traveling to Long County High School for a 6:30 p.m. start.

The LaFayette High School Rambler Fishing Team kicked off its 2026 season with an impressive showing Saturday at Lake Guntersville, highlighted by a fourth-place overall finish from one of its top duos.
Collin Miller and AJ Moyer led the way for the Ramblers, finishing fourth in the tournament with a total of four fish. Their performance set the tone for the team’s opening competition of the new season.
The season opener took place under ideal conditions, with anglers enjoying a beautiful day on the water and strong competition from across the field.
Several other Rambler teams also represented LaFayette High School in the tournament, including Lucy Losh and Maddox Berry; Braden Edgeman and Lucas Dale; Andrew Paden and Ben Paseur; Max Bradford and Mike Hardinger; and Alex Blas Gonzalez.
