The LaFayette High School tennis teams opened a busy week with strong performances, earning a pair of victories over Ringgold on Monday before closing out region play with wins over county rival Ridgeland.
The Ramblers defeated Ringgold 4-1, with singles victories from Isaac Hamilton and Peyton Lands. LaFayette swept doubles action as Tuscan Walden and Rylan Haynes teamed up for a win, along with the duo of Grant Matteson and Marvin Fuentes. In junior varsity play, Mike Hardinger and Max Bradford added a doubles victory.
The Lady Ramblers dominated their matchup with a 5-0 win over Ringgold. Singles winners included Lanie Hamilton, Parker Tudor, and Coralee Hise, while the senior doubles team of Leah Willeford and Rihanna Davis picked up a victory along with Hazel Scoggins and Makenna Clarke. Caroline Farmer and Celeste Cazares added a JV doubles win.
LaFayette continued its momentum by closing out region play with a pair of wins over Ridgeland.
The Ramblers earned a 5-0 victory behind singles wins from Isaac Hamilton, Peyton Lands, and Traye Stahl, while doubles teams Tuscan Walden and Rylan Haynes, along with Grant Matteson and Marvin Fuentes, secured wins. Greyson Baker also picked up a JV singles victory.
The Lady Ramblers followed with a 4-1 win. Singles victories came from Lanie Hamilton, Parker Tudor, and Coralee Hise, while Leah Willeford and Rihanna Davis won at number one doubles. Addi Hogue recorded a JV singles win, and Jazlyn Mosley and Alex Dodson teamed up for a JV doubles victory.
LaFayette High School tennis returns to the court today, traveling to Rome Tennis Center to face Model and Armuchee in non-region action.
