In a dramatic early-season showdown, the LaFayette High School Lady Ramblers softball team emerged victorious over Ringgold in an 8-inning battle, clinching a 2-1 win on their home turf Tuesday night.

Senior pitcher Marlie Day delivered a commanding performance in the circle, going the distance with eight full innings. Day struck out 12 batters and allowed just one walk, keeping Ringgold’s offense at bay throughout the tightly contested game.

Emma Parker helped put LaFayette on the board with a clutch RBI double, while the defensive highlight of the night came in extra innings from Brooklynn Myers. Myers made a spectacular diving catch in the eighth, then turned it into an inning-ending double play, halting a potential Ringgold rally and electrifying the home crowd.

Moments later, Bralie Blevins stepped up with the game-winning RBI, sealing the walk-off victory for the Lady Ramblers.

The team turns its attention to region play as they host Northwest Whitfield today at home. Varsity action begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by the JV game.
