Lady Ramblers Shut Out Ridgeland in Varsity, JV Softball Matchups

LaFayette High School’s softball teams delivered a pair of dominant shutout wins over Ridgeland on Thursday night, with both the varsity and junior varsity squads coming out on top.

In the varsity game, the Lady Ramblers secured a 4-0 victory behind a standout performance from pitcher Marlie Day. The junior hurler was commanding in the circle, striking out eight and giving up just two hits over six innings of work.

At the plate, Harley Perkins led the offensive charge, going a perfect 3-for-3 and driving in two runs. Tamra Yancy added some power to the lineup with a solo home run.

The JV team also impressed, notching a 7-0 win. Emory Beck allowed only one hit and struck out five in a strong outing. Beck also contributed at the plate with a hit.

Brilee Wilson and Tinleigh Roberts each tallied two hits to help power the JV offense.

The varsity team returns to action on Monday when they host Calhoun at 5:30 p.m.
