Lady Ramblers Sweep Gilmer in Dominant Doubleheader

The LaFayette High School Lady Ramblers softball team delivered a commanding performance Tuesday night, sweeping a doubleheader against Gilmer with scores of 3-0 and 10-2.

In Game One, Marlie Day continued her outstanding season in the circle, tossing a complete-game shutout with 10 strikeouts and just one walk. Offensively, Tamra Yancy led the way, going 2-for-3 at the plate. Emma Parker and Bralie Blevins each chipped in with a hit and an RBI, while Addi Hogue added a hit and a run scored. Harley Perkins also contributed with a base hit.

Game Two saw the Lady Ramblers’ bats come alive, backed by a solid pitching effort from Addi Hogue. Hogue threw four strong innings, striking out six and giving up just two runs. She also made an impact at the plate, collecting a hit and driving in two runs.

Bralie Blevins stayed hot, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored. Emma Parker added a 1-for-2 performance with an RBI and two runs, while Emma House went 1-for-3, driving in one and crossing the plate three times. Jocelyn McCallie and Tamra Yancy each tallied a hit in the game.

The Lady Ramblers look to carry their momentum on the road today as both the varsity and JV teams travel to Adairsville. Varsity is set to take the field at 5:30 p.m., with the JV game to follow.
