The LaFayette Lady Ramblers varsity softball team delivered a strong performance on the field, defeating Ringgold in a key matchup. Pitcher Marlie Day led the charge from the mound, striking out six batters and not allowing a single walk in a lights-out outing.
Offensively, the Lady Ramblers were just as sharp. Addi Hogue, Sarah Brooke Kelehear, and Harley Perkins each tallied two hits, keeping the pressure on Ringgold throughout the game.
In JV action, the Lady Ramblers came up just short, falling 7-6 in a close contest. Rylan Stephenson paced the offense with two hits, while Abigail Rowlls, Lillian Nixon, Ella Eppley, and Brooklynn Myers each added hits to the stat sheet.
Both the varsity and JV squads are back in action tomorrow at Gordon Lee. The varsity game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., with JV to follow.
