LaFayette, GA — Sherry Gilreath, owner of Sherr Bear Bargain Binz, is giving back to her community by offering employment opportunities to adult education students at Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC).

Gilreath, 35, manages all aspects of her business—from marketing and hiring to ordering inventory and store upkeep. Recently, she moved her business into a larger location to accommodate growth and expand her workforce.

Now, she plans to hire students through the Youth Work Experience program at GNTC’s Walker County Campus in Rock Spring. The program helped Gilreath herself, and she is eager to provide similar hands-on work experience for others.

“This program gave me the skills and confidence to succeed,” Gilreath said. “I want to offer students the same chance to gain real-world experience and build their futures.”

The Youth Work Experience program connects students with local employers, providing valuable job training and opportunities to develop workplace skills. Gilreath’s commitment highlights the positive impact of community partnerships in supporting education and workforce development.

Students interested in participating can contact the GNTC Walker County Campus for more information.
