The City of LaFayette’s Mayor and Council will meet Monday, August 11 at 6:30 p.m. for their regularly scheduled session to discuss a range of community matters, including infrastructure upgrades, park improvements, and upcoming events.
After opening with the invocation, pledge, and approval of minutes from the July 22 meeting, the council will recognize sponsors of the upcoming Honeybee Festival under the Visitors & Guests portion of the agenda.
In new business, city officials will review a number of operational updates and project proposals. These include discussions on upcoming events and related road closures, purchasing a new mini excavator for the gas department, acquiring a utility truck and truck utility beds, and addressing the need for poles on Max Stoker Road.
The council will also consider improvements to Greenway Park’s playground, a proposed water main for a new home on Henry Circle, and enhancements to the city’s utility mapping system through GIS location services. Additionally, a new ordinance related to City Lake will be reviewed.
Following these items, city leaders will provide updates during the comments section before moving into executive session to discuss real estate, litigation, and personnel matters.
The meeting will be held at City Hall and is open to the public.
