The LaFayette City Council will convene Monday, December 8, for its final regular meeting of the year, beginning with a zoning public hearing at 6:15 p.m. and the full council session at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall.

Council members will then welcome several groups during the visitors and guests portion, including winners from the recent Christmas Parade, city service award recipients, and the LaFayette High School volleyball team will be honored after winning a district championship.

Council members are expected to review upcoming city events and consider a series of agreements and project approvals. These include an agreement with Pilgrim’s Pride, engineering task orders for a water line project and Circle Drive sewer improvements, and a proposal from Global Environmental for sludge disposal.

The agenda also calls for discussion on new flooring for the Recreation Center, MEAG signatory matters, and an interruptible power agreement with CleanSpark. Additional items include potential updates to the city’s film permitting process, a maintenance agreement for the airport’s Automated Weather Observing System, and copyright considerations for the Honeybee Festival.

Following the new business agenda, council members, the city clerk, city attorney, city manager, and mayor will provide comments. The meeting may conclude with an executive session to discuss real estate, litigation, or personnel matters before adjournment.
