In 2023, Downtown LaFayette welcomed the LaFayette Farmers Market to the heart of the city, in what is now known as the Downtown Commons. The vibrancy the market brought each Saturday morning was undeniable. Every week, around 1,000 visitors come to LaFayette to shop for local produce and handmade goods, enjoy live music, and connect as a community. It was an instant success!
In 2024, work began on a permanent home for the market—one that would provide farmers and artisans with shelter from the elements. Construction of the Pavilion was completed in late 2024, just in time for the 2025 Farmers Market Season! When not in use for the market, the Pavilion doubles as covered public parking.
The LaFayette Farmers Market is a strictly makers-only market, meaning that every item sold is handmade. The market runs every Saturday from 9 AM to 1 PM, May through August. This year’s opening day is April 26th, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8:45 AM.
