LaFayette High Names New Boys Basketball

LaFayette High School has named Caleb Perry as the new boys’ Basketball Coach. Perry had been assistant under Hank Peppers. Peppers recently stepped down as the boys’ coach to take over as the head coach of the girls’ basketball program at LaFayette.

Coach Perry is a 2015 graduate of Ringgold High School and a 2020 graduate of Dalton State College. Coach Perry began coaching girls basketball at the age of 19 in the Heritage community before coming to LaFayette as an assistant coach under Coach Hank Peppers in the 2020-2021 season.

During his time as a varsity assistant coach, Coach Perry was closely involved in one of the best runs in school history, winning 2 region championships and making 3 state playoff appearances including an Elite 8 run in 2021 and a Sweet 16 run in 2022. The Ramblers also had 3 players sign to college scholarships to play basketball at the next level during this period.

In addition to being a varsity assistant, Coach Perry has served as Head JV Boys Basketball coach for LaFayette High School since the 2020-2021 season. During that time, Coach Perry has led the JV ramblers to a 40-14 record including 2 seasons with the best record in the region.

Coach Perry and his wife Savannah were married in 2022 and have lived in LaFayette since. Since 2021 Coach Perry has ingrained himself in the LaFayette community by coaching youth AAU teams, winning 9 tournament championships with future Ramblers.

Coach Perry understands the tradition of LaFayette Basketball and how much of a rallying point for the community that Rambler Basketball is. His mission for the Ramblers is a Basketball program that plays with maximum effort, builds value for themselves on and off the court, and a team that makes the community proud while adding to the winning tradition of LaFayette Basketball.
