LaFayette High Vice Principal Arrested on Child Pornography Charges
LaFayette, GA — Ronnie Brent Massey, 49, an Assistant Principal at LaFayette High School, was arrested on Monday, June 2, on multiple charges related to child pornography.
According to a report from the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office, Massey faces 10 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM). The arrest came after law enforcement executed a search warrant at Massey’s Ringgold residence.
“At approximately 5:45 p.m. on June 2, officers arrived at the suspect’s home and obtained his cell phone, which matched the device identified in the investigation,” the report stated. Massey reportedly admitted to owning two accounts linked to the material and acknowledged downloading approximately a dozen videos containing CSAM through a mobile application.
During the search, officers seized multiple cell phones, computers, and storage devices as evidence.
Following his arrest, Massey was taken to the sheriff’s office, where he was interviewed voluntarily before being booked into detention.
In response to the arrest, Walker County Schools Superintendent Damon Raines released a statement to WTVC-TV confirming the district’s cooperation with law enforcement. “Walker County Schools has been notified that a district employee was recently arrested as part of a law enforcement investigation,” Raines said. “We are fully cooperating with authorities and taking appropriate personnel actions in accordance with our policies. Due to the active nature of the investigation and to respect the privacy of those involved, no further information can be shared at this time.”
Massey’s case remains under investigation.
