Lafayette Police Department Releases 2025 Activity Statistics

The City of Lafayette Police Department has released its total activity statistics for 2025, highlighting a year of continued service, enforcement, and community engagement.

According to the department, officers responded to 8,942 total calls for service during the year. Those calls included 1,541 incident reports and 284 accident reports, reflecting the wide range of situations officers addressed throughout the community.

Enforcement efforts in 2025 resulted in 42 DUI arrests and 56 drug-related arrests. Officers also made 374 misdemeanor arrests and 82 felony arrests. In addition, police issued 781 citations and 2,396 warnings, balancing enforcement with education and compliance.

Community-focused efforts remained a priority, with officers conducting 1,112 business contacts and 934 community contacts over the course of the year. The department also completed 3,548 extra patrols, aimed at increasing visibility and enhancing public safety.

Professional development was another key focus, as Lafayette police officers completed a combined 2,793 training hours in 2025.

“Here are the total activity stats for 2025. We are thankful for the opportunity to serve our community and keep it a safe place to live, work, and visit,” the department stated.

Officials say the report reflects the Lafayette Police Department’s ongoing commitment to safety, preparedness, and community partnership as it moves into the new year.
