LaFayette Police Department was made aware of a phone scam that is occurring in our area. Customers of the Bank of LaFayette are receiving calls from the phone number 732-805-8261. The person is stating that they are from the Bookkeeping Department and they’re requesting to review your account information and are asking for personal identifying information which allows them to access your account.
We ask that you always verify who you are talking to prior to giving your information out over the telephone and/or the internet. We also ask that you ask for alternate ways of verifying your identity before giving out your date of birth and/or your social security number.
