LaFayette, GA-A large crowd came to support the LaFayette Rambler Baseball team after a terrible week as they took on the Bulldogs from Trion with a 7-0 victory at Chris Jones Field Friday night. The Trion Bulldogs graciously decided earlier in the week to move the game to LaFayette and forgo their Senior night. They felt the Ramblers needed to be home in their community after the tragic loss of Rambler, #27 Brennon Beavers. Brennon passed away on Tuesday during an accident.

The Bulldogs showed a lot of compassion to the Rambler team, standing together in silence for 27 seconds in memory of #27 Brennon. Braxton Beavers threw out the first pitch in memory of his younger brother and a sign showing support was placed in the Rambler dugout. (See photo below.)

Brennon truly made an impact on the communities. Rambler Head Coach Chris Base said, “He was the glue, he was the leader and the alpha of this team,” when he spoke about Brennon. The move Trion made to support the Ramblers and community was not taken lightly. Coach Base went on to say, “It shows we are one big family when we lose someone as great of a person as Brennon was.”

LHS Principal Maggie Stultz remembering Brennon said, “He crossed all barriers, he really tried to unify his teams, he was great in the classroom.”

A memorial fund has been set up for Brennon Beaver’s family at The Bank of LaFayette.
