The LaFayette High School softball program had a big night on the diamond Tuesday, as both the varsity and junior varsity teams picked up wins over Northwest Whitfield.
The varsity squad turned in a dominant performance, cruising to an 11-2 victory. Emma House led the charge at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Emma Parker also contributed in a big way, going 1-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs of her own. Tamra Yancy added to the offensive output, going 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored.
Not to be outdone, the JV team handled its business as well, defeating the Lady Bruins 5-2. Bri Medrano went 2-for-2 at the plate, while Brilee Wilson added a hit, a run, and an RBI. Abigail Rowlls was also perfect at the plate, going 1-for-1 and scoring twice.
Both teams are scheduled to return to action today for a rematch at Northwest Whitfield. The varsity game is set for 5:30 p.m., with the JV game to follow — weather permitting.
