The LaFayette High School softball program had a stellar night on the diamond Tuesday, with both the varsity and junior varsity teams securing decisive wins over visiting Ridgeland.
The varsity Lady Ramblers cruised to a 9-1 victory, thanks to a strong offensive performance and solid pitching. Bralie Blevins led the way at the plate, going 2-for-2 with three RBIs. Emma Parker and Tamra Yancy also chipped in with two hits apiece, helping to keep the pressure on Ridgeland throughout the game.
On the mound, Marlie Day delivered a complete-game performance, striking out six batters over six innings and holding Ridgeland to a single run.
In the junior varsity matchup, LaFayette showed no signs of slowing down, rolling to a 16-2 win. Emory Beck and Abigail Rowlls each recorded two hits, pacing a powerful offensive effort. Pitcher Rylen Stephenson was dominant in the circle, striking out four and not allowing an earned run.
The Lady Ramblers will look to keep the momentum going when they host Ridgeland again on Thursday. The varsity game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., with the JV game to follow.
