LaFayette Unites for Earth Day Clean-Up, Removes Four Tons of Trash

SHARE NOW

LaFayette residents rolled up their sleeves Saturday morning for the city’s annual Earth Day Clean-Up, joining forces with the Public Works crew to collect an impressive four tons of trash from neighborhoods, parks, and public spaces.

The Junior City Council took the lead in several targeted areas, while the LaFayette Women’s Club turned their attention to beautifying Joe Stock Park. Volunteers of all ages came out, united by a shared commitment to their community.

Among the day’s highlights was a special effort to help an elderly resident bring her property up to safety standards—an act that underscored the deeper impact of the cleanup. A safe home doesn’t just protect one family—it strengthens the whole neighborhood.

This year’s Earth Day effort was a clear reminder of the power of community, as LaFayette’s citizens stepped up—together—for their town and one another.
