The LaFayette High School volleyball team closed out region play this week with an impressive 8-2 record, solidifying their spot as one of the top teams in the area.
On Tuesday night, the varsity squad faced tough competition, dropping their first match to top-ranked Calhoun in two close sets (19-25, 22-25). However, they bounced back quickly with a dominant performance against Adairsville, winning in straight sets (25-12, 25-10).
The Junior Varsity team also had a strong showing, picking up two wins on the night. The JV Lady Ramblers defeated Calhoun (25-13, 25-14) and Adairsville (25-19, 25-15), continuing their solid run late in the season.
Looking ahead, both teams are back in action on Thursday. The JV team will take on Ringgold in a best-of-three match beginning at 5:00 p.m. The varsity will follow with a best-of-five match against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m.
The JV squad will wrap up their season on Saturday at the St. Pius JV Tournament.
