The Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office has expressed its gratitude to Special Agent in Charge Joe Montgomery as he retires after more than four decades of service with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Montgomery’s career with the GBI began in 1984, where he served in several work units across Middle Georgia before transferring to Region 1 in Calhoun in 1994. For the past 31 years, he has dedicated his work to the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit, ultimately serving as Special Agent in Charge.
Over the course of his 41-year career, Montgomery was instrumental in bringing justice to countless victims and families. His leadership and investigative work were key in securing numerous major convictions across the circuit.
The District Attorney’s Office praised Montgomery’s unwavering commitment to the community and recognized his lasting impact on law enforcement in Northwest Georgia.
