LaFayette, GA-A major milestone was met yesterday as the 31,000-pound boulder, the centerpiece of the fountain at the new Gateway Park, was carefully positioned in its final location. Public Works was on hand to guide the sandstone into place with precision. This innovative project has tested the ingenuity and resourcefulness of the City of LaFayette team, and they are proud of the collaborative efforts that have brought this design to life.
The boulder was prepared for water flow, and the first test-run of the fountain was successfully completed. Now, work will commence on masonry, landscaping, and sidewalks. The Gateway Park will be complete no later than May 31st, just in time for the Honeybee Festival.
