Walker County– Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson says three people are dead and one injured in an apparent murder-suicide on Saturday night. The shooter is among those dead. A domestic dispute turned deadly when 54-year-old Russell David Payne entered a house on Wood Station Road and opened fire. Killing his estranged wife, 54-year-old Jacklyn D. Payne and her father, 79-year-old Eugene “Jack” Denny. One survivor, identified only as a family friend, was transported to the hospital and underwent emergency surgery. He remains in critical condition. Authorities say that Russell David Payne died of a self inflicted gun shot wound.
