Construction crews recently began work on a new agricultural pavilion at Ridgeland High School. Walker County Government secured a $100,000 grant last year from Georgia’s Department of Community Affairs to construct the new 60’ x 100’ learning space.
The pavilion will feature open side walls with a concrete pillar foundation. Once complete, it will provide a safe and contained learning environment with controlled and monitored access for ag-related civic organizations and activities.
School leaders envision using the new pavilion for livestock, forestry and horticulture exhibits, as well as labs and industry demonstrations. It will also provide year round meeting space for FFA and other groups.
Construction is expected to be completed by the end of this month, allowing students access to the facility this school year.
