LaFayette, GA-The preliminary report on the crash from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) from the March 20th crash at Barwick–LaFayette Airport has been released. Russell Edward Jones of LaFayette and Steven Boyd Powell of Cartersville were not named in the report. However, both were killed during the training flight March 20th.
The NTSB report says the Cirrus SR-22 plane circled the runway twice after taking off around 2:21PM. During the 3rd circle, the plane encountered an issue and crashed, exploded, and burst into flames. The final NTSB report will not be released for some time.
