Pilgrim’s officially broke ground today on its new $400 million prepared foods facility in Walker County, following the company’s announcement of the investment in July.
Once fully operational, the facility is expected to create up to 630 jobs and will produce a wide range of fully cooked chicken products for grocery stores and wholesale clubs under well-known brands such as Just Bare and Pilgrim’s.
Beyond job creation, Pilgrim’s plans to bring its signature community programs—Hometown Strong and Better Futures—to Walker County, further demonstrating its commitment to supporting local communities.
In a show of immediate community support, Pilgrim’s is donating more than 700 pounds of chicken wings, tenders, and breasts to Pie Slingers Pizzeria, helping provide meals to families in need.
“At Pilgrim’s, we believe in showing up for our communities—especially in challenging times,” said Fabio Sandri, CEO of Pilgrim’s. “This donation is a small way we can help ensure families in Walker County have access to a warm meal and a sense of togetherness during the holiday season.”
