Qualifying fees have been established for county offices up for election in the 2026 general primary and general election. Fees are set at three percent of the minimum salary for each office.
Seats on the ballot this year include Districts 1 and 2 on the Board of Commissioners, as well as Districts 2 and 3 on the Board of Education.
The qualifying fee to run for the Board of Commissioners is $592.80, while the fee for a Board of Education seat is $36.00.
Candidate qualifying for county offices will open at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2026, and will close at noon on Friday, March 6. Residents interested in running are encouraged to plan accordingly.
