The City of LaFayette is preparing for its upcoming municipal election, scheduled for Tuesday, November 4, 2025. Local residents interested in running for office will have the opportunity to qualify starting today.
Qualifying will take place at LaFayette City Hall over a three-day period, beginning Monday, August 18, and ending Wednesday, August 20. The qualifying window will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.
Several key positions will be on the ballot this year, including:
Mayor
Ward 1 Council Seat
Ward 2 Council Seat
Municipal Judge
Candidates must pay a qualifying fee to enter the race. The fee for the mayoral race is $126.00, while the fee for both council seats and the municipal judge position is $108.00 each.
The general election will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, with polling places open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
