The quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Wall, built by 200 inmates at the Walker State Prison, will be on display at the Rossville Community Center (301 Williams Street) this Friday and Saturday. This is a free, drop-in event for everyone to experience between 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Friday and 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Inmates created the replica using 3,000 pounds of cardboard and 30 gallons of glue and paint. They invested 9,000 hours to add all 58,300 names by hand, one letter at a time. The event is sponsored by Operation Outreach and the Walker County Historic Preservation Commission.
