The LaFayette Ramblers opened their season in dominant fashion Friday night with a commanding 10-1 win over Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe (LFO), fueled by a lights-out performance from Marlie Day in the circle and timely hitting up and down the lineup.
Day was nearly untouchable, striking out 11 batters en route to earning the team’s “Iron Worker” Player of the Game honors. Her poise and precision kept LFO hitters off balance all night.
Offensively, Addi Hogue led the charge at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. Day also helped her own cause, contributing a 1-for-3 outing with two RBI, while Emma Parker matched that stat line with a 1-for-3 effort and two runs driven in.
The Ramblers capitalized on their opportunities and never looked back, setting the tone for what they hope will be a strong season.
LaFayette and LFO will square off again Monday, this time at LFO. First pitch is set for 5:30 p.m.
