Walker County, GA – The Georgia Court of Appeals has upheld the Walker County Superior Court’s ruling affirming the eligibility of Board of Education member Karen Harden and former Board member Mike Carruth to serve in their elected positions. This decision confirms that Walker County Schools has operated within the legal and ethical guidelines set forth by state law and local policy.
As Superintendent, I appreciate the court’s thorough review of this matter and its recognition of the Board’s compliance with state statutes. Our focus has always been, and will continue to be, on providing the best possible education for the students of Walker County.
Karen Harden remains a dedicated and active member of the Walker County Board of Education, continuing to serve our schools and community with integrity. Mike Carruth, who previously served on the Board, has likewise contributed years of service to the betterment of our district. Their commitment to our students and educators has never wavered, and I want to thank them for their leadership and dedication.
While legal challenges can be distracting, our priority remains the success and well-being of our students. We encourage our community to stay engaged, support our schools, and work together toward our shared goal of educational excellence.
