Voters across Walker County head to the polls today to cast ballots in local and statewide elections.

Georgians statewide will decide two seats on the Public Service Commission, which regulates and sets rates for electricity, gas, and phone services. In Walker County, voters will also weigh in on a countywide Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) referendum. Municipal elections are also being held in LaFayette, Chickamauga, and Rossville.

All 11 precincts in Walker County will be open on Election Day. Voters must cast their ballots at their assigned polling location. Those uncertain about their designated polling place can contact the Walker County Elections Office for assistance.

While registration for this election has closed, eligible registered voters can participate in person today. Georgia law requires voters to present an approved form of photo identification, such as a driver’s license, passport, or military ID, before casting a ballot.

Polls across the state will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today.
