Ronnie Massey, the assistant principal at LaFayette High School, is now in custody after investigators found child sexual abuse material on his cellphone, according to the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies arrested Massey on Monday following an investigation prompted by a tip. Authorities executed a search warrant at his home on Mason Drive in Ringgold.
Sheriff Gary Sisk explained that the investigation began when deputies received information about illegal material being downloaded from a specific IP address. Using advanced techniques, officers traced the activity to Massey’s device by identifying its unique serial number.
A subsequent search of Massey’s phone uncovered images consistent with the original tip. He is currently facing 10 counts of computer pornography, according to online records.
The investigation is ongoing.
