June 16, 2025 — Walker and Catoosa Counties, GA — In a powerful display of community spirit and lifesaving dedication, residents and law enforcement from Walker and Catoosa counties turned out in force for the annual Battle of the Badges blood drive on Friday, June 13. The event, held over just seven hours, collected a combined total of 141 units of blood, potentially saving up to 423 lives.
Walker County once again claimed the top spot in this friendly competition, bringing in 86 donations, enough to help save up to 258 lives. Not far behind, Catoosa County made a record-breaking showing with 55 donations — a 148% increase over their projected goal — helping save up to 165 lives.
Organizers praised both sheriff’s offices for their efforts in promoting the event and encouraging participation. “This was more than a competition — it was a display of courage, commitment, and community spirit,” organizers said in a statement. “The teamwork between the Walker County and Catoosa County Sheriff’s offices, along with the generosity of donors, made a real impact on local hospitals and patients in need.”
With growing support and increasing turnout, the event continues to highlight how local law enforcement and community members can join forces for a greater cause — saving lives.
Plans are already underway for next year’s Battle of the Badges, promising an even bigger impact in 2026.
