Walker County Animal Control Searching for Person Who Abandoned Dog in Rossville

WALKER COUNTY, GA — Walker County Animal Control is asking for the public’s help after a dog was abandoned inside a pet carrier near a busy roadway in Rossville.
Animal control officers say the dog was discovered Tuesday evening, March 17, near the intersection of Schmidt Road and West Cloud Springs Road.
According to officials, a disturbing handwritten note was left on the carrier. Authorities say the message indicated the individual no longer wanted the dog and contained cruel and inappropriate language about the animal.
Animal Control is now working to identify the person responsible and is asking anyone who may recognize the dog or has information about the incident to come forward.
Officials say tips can be provided anonymously.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Walker County Animal Control at 706-924-0053 or email [email protected].
