The Walker County Animal Shelter is inviting the community to take part in its “Stuffed with Love” adoption event, offering $0 adoption fees on select pets. Any dog or cat with orange, black, or brown coloring has its adoption fee fully sponsored.
In addition the waived fees, each adopted animal will leave the shelter spayed or neutered, microchipped with lifelong registration, and started on age-appropriate vaccines and wormer—at no cost.
Shelter staff remind residents to come prepared: dogs must leave on a leash and collar, and cats must be transported in a secure carrier. Donations are also welcome.
The shelter is open today from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., but will be closed to the public Thursday, Friday and Saturday this week. Community members are encouraged to visit while they can and give a pet a loving home.
