The Walker County Board of Education will convene for a planning session on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at the Advancing Education Center, located at 925 Osburn Road in Chickamauga.
The meeting will begin with a call to order, followed by an invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance. A highlight of the evening will be special recognitions honoring Ridgeland High School students who have achieved the status of AP Scholars, reflecting their academic excellence and dedication to advanced coursework.
Board members will receive a series of updates during the “Items of Information” segment, including a facilities update, financial review, curriculum developments, and progress on the LAUNCH initiative. Superintendent’s remarks and a review of the tentative agenda will also be part of this segment.
One action item is on the agenda: consideration of Premier Transportation, LLC for LaFayette High School scheduled on April 29, 2026.
The session will also cover new business matters and include an executive session, typically held to discuss personnel or legal issues in private. The board is expected to vote on personnel recommendations before the meeting adjourns.
