We have some amazing dispatchers who work at our 911 Center. The team has already worked multiple weather events, a massive brush fire, a triple murder/suicide, a plane crash and other stressful situations, in addition to the calls they would normally receive over the course of the day.
Our dispatchers exhibit compassion, understanding and professionalism during the performance of their jobs and have contributed greatly to the apprehension of criminals, suppression of fires and treatment of patients.
Public Safety Telecommunicators are the first and most critical contact our citizens have with emergency services.
In honor of the work these fine women and men perform throughout the year, the County has designated April 13-19 to be Public Safety Telecommunicators Week in Walker County. Please join us in thanking them for their service to our community!
