Walker County, GA – The Walker County Coroner’s Office is clarifying recent misinformation circulating in the community that claimed local children from two schools had died by suicide. Coroner Billy Sims confirmed that these reports are false, and no such incidents have been reported or investigated by the office.
“Spreading inaccurate or sensationalized information—especially about children—can cause unnecessary fear, emotional distress, and harm to families,” Coroner Sims said. He urged the public to rely only on verified information from official sources and to avoid sharing unconfirmed reports on social media or elsewhere.
The Coroner’s Office emphasized that it works closely with law enforcement, medical professionals, and local agencies to ensure all death investigations are conducted thoroughly and respectfully. When a matter of public concern arises, official information will be released through proper channels.
