Backyard and commercial poultry owners in Walker County will have an opportunity to learn more about protecting their flocks amid recent avian influenza cases through an upcoming educational webinar.

Extension Agent Wade Hutcheson will host a biosecurity webinar for poultry owners on Wednesday, February 5, at 5:30 p.m. The session will focus on practical biosecurity measures aimed at reducing the risk of avian influenza, particularly for those with backyard flocks and commercial operations.

During the webinar, Hutcheson will also review common symptoms of avian influenza and answer questions related to prevention and flock safety. The program is intended to help poultry owners better understand how the virus spreads and what steps can be taken to limit exposure.
