Walker County Fire Rescue (WCFR), in partnership with the Lafayette Fire Department and the American Red Cross, conducted a neighborhood fire safety survey and free smoke alarm installation drive over the weekend.
During the outreach effort, teams visited more than 80 homes, installing 38 smoke alarms and providing residents with valuable fire safety information.
So far this year, WCFR has installed over 100 free smoke alarms in homes throughout the community as part of its ongoing commitment to prevent fire-related injuries and fatalities.
Residents interested in receiving free smoke alarms can learn more about the program by visiting Walker County Fire Rescue’s website.
