A Walker County officer was injured in a crash Monday morning in Fort Oglethorpe.
The accident happened around 8 a.m. on Battlefield Parkway near the Steak ‘n Shake and Chick-fil-A. According to news reports, Social Security Officer Richard Williams was involved in a collision with a dump truck after suffering a medical episode.
Georgia State Patrol reports that Williams’ vehicle entered the intersection at Fant Drive and was struck on the driver’s side by the dump truck.
Williams was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for his injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
