Walker County Public Safety Telecommunicators Week April 13-19

Walker County has some amazing dispatchers who work at the 911 Center. This year, the team has already worked multiple weather events, a massive brush fire, a triple murder/suicide, a plane crash and other highly stressful situations, in addition to the calls they normally receive over the course of a day.

This team of dispatchers exhibits compassion, understanding and professionalism during the performance of their jobs and have contributed greatly to the apprehension of criminals, suppression of fires and treatment of patients. Public Safety Telecommunicators are the first and most critical contact citizens have with emergency services. In honor of the work these fine women and men perform throughout the year, Walker County has designated April 13-19 as Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.
