As October begins, Walker County officials are reminding residents of proper outdoor burning regulations.
From now through April 30, residents in unincorporated areas may burn natural yard debris such as leaves, twigs, small limbs, brush, and grass clippings without a permit.
However, burning household garbage or man-made materials—including tires, shingles, plastics, and lumber—remains strictly prohibited year-round.
For additional details and safety information, residents are encouraged to visit the county’s official website.
