The Walker County Board of Education will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will take place at the Department of Education building, 301 North Cherokee Street in LaFayette.
The agenda includes special recognitions honoring local Spelling Bee winners.
Board members will receive updates on school facilities and hear the superintendent’s report. Action items include approval of the FY2027 school calendar and the December 31, 2025 financial report.
Consent items on the agenda include approval of minutes from previous meetings, contracts for school construction and renovation projects, purchase of MacBook Air computers for Naomi Elementary School, and school contracts with Mercedes-Benz Stadium and Premier Transportation, LLC.
The meeting will also include a public participation segment, executive session, and personnel recommendations before adjournment. Meetings are open to the public.
