The Walker County School System has approved its academic calendar for the 2026–27 school year, setting key dates for students, families, and staff.
According to the newly approved schedule, the first day of school will be Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2026.
Several major breaks are included throughout the school year. Fall Break is scheduled for Oct. 12–16, followed by Thanksgiving Break from Nov. 23–27. Students and staff will observe the Holiday Break from Dec. 21, 2026, through Jan. 5, 2027.
Spring Break will take place March 29 through April 2, 2027.
The calendar also sets graduation for the Class of 2027 on Friday, May 21, 2027.
