Walker County Schools Launches “Caregiver & Me PreK” Program for Young Learners

Chickamauga, GA – Walker County Schools is offering a short-term, informal PreK experience this fall for children ages 3 and 4 through its new “Caregiver & Me PreK” program. The initiative provides children with early learning opportunities while equipping caregivers with strategies to support PreK learning at home.

The program is designed to be interactive and engaging, encouraging caregivers—such as parents, grandparents, guardians, or babysitters—to actively participate alongside their child. Participation is free of charge, and space is limited, so interested families are encouraged to apply promptly.

Key Details of the Program:

  • Dates and Times: Classes will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 29–30; Nov. 5–7, 12–14, 19, 21; and Dec. 3–5, 10–11.

  • Location: Walker County Schools Enrollment Center, 925 Osburn Road, Chickamauga, GA 30707.

  • Cost: Free.

  • Transportation: Families are responsible for providing transportation to and from the classes.

  • Selection: Participants will be invited based on the submitted interest forms. Attendance is required once selected.
